Can My Run Form Assessment Be Completed Anywhere?

Good news: you have flexibility in where you complete your run form assessment. You don't need a special location or a lab — you can do it in the settings you already run in.

Where you can run

You can run overground, for example on a flat road, or you can run on a treadmill. Both work well for the analysis. The one important exception is the type of treadmill: it needs to be a regular treadmill, not a curved treadmill. Curved treadmills change how you move and how you appear on camera, so they aren't suitable for the assessment.

A quick framing tip

Wherever you record, keeping yourself well-framed helps the analysis generate cleanly. If your recording includes a lot of empty space around you, cropping the video so you stay well-framed can make it easier for the analysis to track your body from head to feet.

So whether you prefer a flat stretch of road or your usual treadmill session, you can get a reliable assessment — just avoid curved treadmills and keep yourself clearly in the frame.
