Understanding Your RunDNA Scores
RunDNA gives you a few related scores: a Run Form Score, an RMS Score, and an overall score that combines them. Each one measures a different part of how you move.
Run Form Score
Your Run Form Score comes from your two running videos. It looks at a broad set of running mechanics, things like your posture, hip, knee, and ankle motion, ground contact patterns, and how your left and right sides compare to each other, and rolls them into a single percentage. A higher percentage means your mechanics are closer to the ranges associated with efficient, injury-resistant running.
Your score is displayed rounded to the nearest tenth (for example, 91.1%). If your mechanics are far enough outside typical ranges, the app will show "< 40%" instead of an exact number.
RMS Score
Your RMS Score is also shown as a percentage out of 100%. It's built from your results across a set of standard mobility, strength, and stability exercises, taking into account whether you could complete each one, whether it was pain-free, and whether your left and right sides matched.
Your overall score
RunDNA also combines your Run Form Score and RMS Score into one overall figure, called your Full Movement Assessment score. Your Run Form Score carries more weight in this calculation than your RMS Score, in keeping with RunDNA's focus on how you actually move while running.
You can see this in your charts by going to the Labs tab, tapping View All in the Movement section, and selecting the Full tab.
How this connects to the rest of your report
Beyond the single scores, your report also breaks results down by body region, so you can see where a limiter might be coming from and what's driving it.
